Adult Mental Health First Aid
This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to notice different causes of emotional and mental distress in adults. It will teach you to listen, provide reassurance to people and give appropriate support. At the heart of Mental Health First Aid is being able to empower individuals to access the support that can help them with their distress. You will also discuss how to support positive wellbeing and tackle stigma within your organisation and the world around you. You will leave the course with practical strategies to better manage your own stress and encourage others to better manage theirs.
Youth Mental Health First Aid
The Youth MHFA course will provide you with the skills and strategies to work with emotional and mental distress in young people aged 8-18 years of age. You will have an opportunity to understand what impacts on your own stress and how to identify and reduce stress in young people. Upon finishing the course you will have learnt how to identify different causes of emotional and mental distress, active listening skills, identifying appropriate supports and information to be empower the young person to manage their symptoms and recover from their distress.
Youth Mental Health Aware
This 3 hour course offers an introduction to youth mental health. You will leave the course with an increased understanding of emotional and mental distress in young people, the impact of stress on participants as well as young people and skills to begin helpful conversations.
